I see a lot of arbitration and purchases of random unknown websites just prior to huge price increases going on. However I'm quite confused how people manage to find these websites?
The only ways I can think of are:
- Someone is scripting to check Alexa prices against uraldex prices and this tool is reporting the "best buys" as it finds them, quite a trivial task, but against the rules?
- They spend a ridiculous amount of time on the site going from URL to URL to find the best sites.
- They have insider knowledge from websites themselves or from Alexa as to which sites are currently or about to experience a massive spike in traffic.
- They have a massive long watch list from many seasons of watching which URLs have random spikes or take ages to update?
Anyone able to enlighten me how people are finding the ridculous wesbites?
Thanks!

It's the same with any web game isn't it. I used to be a big part of the space themed game Planetarion. I don't know if any of you know it, but that was the same.
Playing it casually meant you did "alright" but to be the best, people were ruining their sleep patterns, ending up losing their jobs, their wives, their University placements, etc.
Kloopy, 2009-03-24 14:39:05 PDT
although the longer <more seasons> you play this game the less time you have to spend getting into the top ten :)
john m, 2009-03-24 14:44:09 PDT
In my half season and so far this season, I've expanded my watch list to about 90 decent sites, a lot of them are cyclicals and some are really good peaks at certain dates every year.
I guess there's no understating the knowledge you get for long-term play. :-)
Kloopy, 2009-03-24 14:48:19 PDT
l had to delete a few from my watched list as it wouldnt take any more :(
john m, 2009-03-24 15:05:24 PDT
I sincerely hope it's not limited to MAXINT. :P

well if you go ta advanced forum you can use tags to insert aliases
like this;
scr.co.il 2009-03-24 cancel $1,680 $1,680 +0% 859
newegg.com yoga.sk
the two below ie yoga and newegg are aliases of scr.co.il
that saves me two places on my watched list
;)
john m, 2009-03-24 15:14:19 PDT
Nice tip, thank you. :-) I've got a few aliased ones too, so I don't forget them. I'll go and update my list now :D
Kloopy, 2009-03-25 06:13:20 PDT
Just seen on BBC News.. they are getting rid of CORGI.. just so you know when looking for someone registered..
..From 1 April 2009, gas installers that are working legally and are safe to carry out gas work will be listed under a new gas safety register. The CORGI scheme ends in Great Britain on 31 March 2009. Always use a registered gas installer and check their ID.
