I have been playing with the over 1234 aircraft that evcuatied to my base for the storms. They are just now going away -

Wright Patterson AFB, here in Ohio; is the HURVAC base for all USAF, NAVY, USMC and Army aircraft, when a hurricane is projected in an area of theeast coast or gulf coast. WPAFB is the largest east cost - midwest safe haven place there is in the US.
I'm the Lead Transient Aircraft Mechanic for the base - so, I get to stay here until all the planes go bye-bye and return to their home stations. Great over-time paycheck - crumby hours - and I have to stay on base. My house is only 10 miles from work - but, I have a bedroom and shower attached to my office...so it's not "too" bad...
When I can - I'll post some pic's - it's cool to see that many aircraft parked and in rows, at one time...we have and get everything that flys...fighters, big heavy's and helo's...

thats pretty awesome... i know a few people in the air force. i went out to minnesota to one of the bases out there and got some vip tours from the commander there who is a dear family friend of ours.

That was pretty cool I bet - its alwys neat to see stuff up close - that you dont normally get to see..
