What are dummy aliases? created by c2 [permalink]
Dummy aliases are sites like 1234.google.com, 4321.google.com, etc. They are URLs that alexa.com treats as separate (by name), but really just have the same data as the parent URL (google.com in this example).

Dummy aliases are not legal. They allow all users to buy an infinite amount of a site, destroying the scarcity of a URL (and destroying the game itself). We have some logic in place to help prevent users from buying dummy aliases, but we can't catch them all. If you see someone using dummy aliases, please let us know.

Abusing dummy aliases won't be tolerated. If you are found to be using them we will ask you to stop and sell all your dummy aliases back at their original price. If you continue to use dummy aliases after a warning your account will be reset or deleted.
